May Day
Are you delivering flower baskets to your neighbors or dancing around the maypole today? I will be having my kindergarteners make mayflower baskets!
April was a mix of every whether you can think of! And while I enjoyed out couple of days of sunshine and short weather, we ended on snow so…. very ready for May and hopefully more sun than snow!
It was a pretty productive month for me as a writer. I did the last minute edits for Butterfly Kisses which comes out next week! YAY! I finished polishing up my space fantasy and sent it to my publisher, which they accepted and will publish, YAY again!! And I have written over 23K words on a brand new werewolf romance! I feel the writer juices flowing and I hope to carry them all the way through the next five and a half weeks of school and finish this first draft before then. And I’m already looking forward to summer and my goals for that will be: Final draft of a paranormal slow burn sweet romance, second draft this werewolf romance, and write a first draft of something TBD.
I’ve started the countdown! Next Tuesday this spicy MFM paranormal why choose releases and I can’t wait to hear from readers! Get it on AMAZON
And with this release I am doing some great events locally, if you are able, I hope you come see me at one of them.
I am particularly excited about the June 27th date, I get to do a presentation at the library on writing and publishing! Come to listen, stay to buy a book!! Should be a lot of fun.
I didn’t do much reviewing of my reads this month, but I did get through some things. For book club I read The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store. It was slow to start and had some parts that bogged down, but overall it was a good story, would make a great movie! The book club book for May is The Husbands! I am excited to read that one. I read the first four books (2 duologies) in the Hades and Persephone series. I didn’t love love them… but with the advice that it gets better I’ve started the third duology. I read a couple ebooks that were okay too. All in all, not a bad month for reading either at 9 books and added a couple to my alphabet challenge for the year!
If you have any good ideas for a Q, Y or Z book let me know, I have a feeling they are going to be a challenge to find. I also haven’t decided which banned book to read so if you have a recommendation let me know!
Some reviews of my books that came in this month, always exciting for me to read!!
A little preview of my May 15th newsletter! I will be interviewing this lovely local author! Deborah Koren who has a new release on May 20th! It was so fun to meet up with an author in person and talk books and publishing in the sunshine. Check her out HERE
If you’d like to be my guest author in June let me know!
